Hello There!

My earliest memory of self-appointing myself as an artist is when I won a drawing contest in third grade — a colored-pencil scribble of fish under the water. No two artists' journeys are the same, and mine is undefined like watercolor, dreamy like bokeh, pithy like a corporation’s tagline, precise like Adobe software, and twisted like a movie’s plot. Like all of us living in the United States, the event of September 11th has marked a beginning or an ending, and profoundly changed my course of life. I moved to New York City, as people fleeing, in pursuit of my art career. As I recount my experience, the occasional small encouragements and validations are more inspirational for me as an artist. I always remember the moment my drawing teacher pulled me aside and said, “promise me you'll never stop drawing”. I’m in debt to my mom who sent me to private drawing classes. I cherish the high I got when I saw my self-portrait charcoal hung in the gallery… Those instances made me who I am, not the creative director position at an advertising firm or a large contract that landed in my lap. Here are some brief, informal facts about me: Studied architectural design in college; ended up with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts and Design; founded Cenarios, LLC., a Marketing Communications firm; went to film school; finished my first feature film script Blood Snow. As I continue to explore the ever-changing creative field I come here to share my vision, my art, my story; I come here in search of validation and appreciation of the world, to whom I say, “Hello, my name is Adam Hong.”

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.

Inspiration

As an artist, a designer, a photographer, a writer, and a filmmaker I draw my inspiration from every awake moment — from a sliver of light, a found object, the seduction of city life... Anything I encounter has a story behind it.

Techniques

I'm one of those rare artists who were trained in traditional arts but embrace technologies since the invention of Photoshop in 1987. My techniques are whatever-it-takes. My job is to tell the story that, hopefully, will resonate when the right audience comes along.

career highlights

I was "in the room" — a movie industry term — to pitch my feature film script Blood Snow to an executive team of producers of a big studio. It was thrilling and terrifying at the same time.

Fall, no doubt, has been my favorite season since I was a kid—the excitement of going back to school, the smell of new textbooks, new clothes and the twisted celebration of Halloween. As an adult, the excitement remains the same for different reasons. Fall is the mark of the beginning and ending at the same time. To celebrate the most glorious season of the year, I'm giving away a piece of art that fits the theme of FALLOWEEN.   The winner will have a choice between 'Boating in the City' or 'The Drive'. Both are printed on Crystal Archive paper, 11" x 14" with 4" mat (worth $150 each at retail). Giveaway ends on October 31st!

I also have a special prize for EVERYONE who enters,
EVEN IF YOU DON'T WIN:

As soon as the giveaway ends,
I will give you a one-time discount to buy anything on my site at 25% OFF!
